TropSe partners up with Malmö Stad & Event Skåne to create the next generation of eSport event, this time the title is FIFA18!
The event will be held the 5th of May and goes by the name “TropSe Masters 2018”. It is the Spiritual successor to last year’s Nordic Champion -17. Nordic Champion was the first FIFA tournament that focused on achieving the level of competitiveness required to truly answer the question: “Who is the best FIFA-player in the Nordics?”
The Nordic countries are famous for producing some of the world’s greatest eSports athletes and organizations. Last year’s tournament attracted internationally recognized stars like Lukasinho (who won), Agge, Boraslegend and Zimme to name a few. This year everything will be bigger, better and more competitive. 48 players on PS4 and 48 players on XBOX will enter the group stage which will be played online between 12th Mars and 9th of April. 16 of these players (on each console) will proceed to the playoff event where they will compete for a 15.000€ pricepool as well as one more BIG thing…
The biggest change from last year is that this time tournament is an official Licensed Qualifying Event on the road to the FIFA eWorld Cup. In other words the tournament have received an Nordic-exclusive license from EA making this tournament a part of the “world championship” of FIFA18. The winners of the XBOX & PS4 divisions will hence qualify to the FIFA Global series playoff, where they will battle against the best players in the world.
“Malmö is amazing place to organize events when you want to attract people from all the Nordic countries. With only 20 minutes from Copenhagen airport to the event venue on MalmöMässan it is our hope that both players and event visitors from all Nordic Countries feel that the threshold is low to come to the event. In addition, a great cooperation from the city and region made it easy for us to choose Malmö as the place to create eSports history!” //Alexis Piippo, Head of Heads (CEO) at TropSe
“We are very excited that TropSe Masters 2018 have chosen our region for their next big event. This highlights a confirmation of Malmö being one of the key European hosts and destinations when it comes to future e-sport events.” Linn Möller-Laketic, Project manager at Events in Skåne
“Malmö is a young and vibrant city, situated in Northern Europe´s hottest game development region. Hosting Tropse Masters will even further enhance the goal to become Europe´s leading gaming hub.” // Pehr Andersson, Director of Trade & Industry in Malmö.
